Accessibility

Our commitment to inclusive design

Last updated: February 12, 2026

Our Commitment

We design Nourli to be usable by everyone, regardless of ability. Accessibility is a core part of our development process, not an afterthought. We are continually improving the user experience and applying relevant accessibility standards to ensure equal access for all users.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance means we strive to meet the following criteria:

  • Perceivable - Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive
  • Operable - User interface components and navigation must be operable by all users
  • Understandable - Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable
  • Robust - Content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of assistive technologies

Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation - All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard
  • Screen reader support - Proper ARIA labels and semantic HTML for assistive technologies
  • Color contrast - Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements
  • Responsive design - Content adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels
  • Reduced motion - We respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" setting for users sensitive to animation
  • Focus indicators - Visible focus states for keyboard navigation
  • Text resizing - Users can zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of some areas that need improvement:

  • Some chart visualizations may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working on adding proper descriptions and alternative text.
  • AI-generated food descriptions may occasionally lack optimal clarity for screen reader users. We are improving our prompts to generate more accessible content.

We aim to address these limitations by Q2 2026. We are actively working on solutions and welcome your feedback.

How to Report a Barrier

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please include the following in your report so we can address it effectively:

  • The URL or screen where you encountered the issue
  • The assistive technology you were using (e.g., VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA)
  • A description of the barrier and what you expected to happen

We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
